Ohio is a hotbed of great sports moments, from being the place where both professional baseball and football started, to being the current home of several famous race car drivers and golfers. We have rivalries that go back decades and traditions that cross place and time. Each of us identify with our teams and love the players like family. We celebrate victories and cry over defeats. We watch as our players, coaches and fans act with both good and bad judgement. And we both praise and complain about innovations in sports—things that change the games we love so much. All of these stories make up the larger story of Ohio sports and fill our memories.
While our exhibit won’t have enough space to tell every single story, we are building a timeline of key sporting events.
