Crowd-Fund History Projects in Your Community
The Ohio History Connection History Fund is a competitive matching grant program for history projects that you make possible. You can help in three ways:
- Donate part of your State of Ohio income tax refund. It's easy! Find "Ohio History Fund" on line 26 on your state income tax return and write in the amount you want to contribute. The state income tax check off is the History Fund's main source of support. About 90% of all contributions are made during tax season from January-April. (The average donation is $13, but feel free to be above average.)
- Purchase an Ohio History “mastodon” license plate, at Ohio BMV (click on “History”). $20 from each purchase supports grants from the History Fund.
- Make a tax-deductible donation to the Ohio History Connection: Ohio History Connection-History Fund.
The more tax check-off donations the Ohio History Fund receives, the more grants we make!
The History Fund is also supported by the State Historic Preservation Fund (SHPF), part of the Ohio Historical Foundation. Income from the SHPF is reserved for the support of historic preservation projects.
