Volunteer your time and talent with Ohio History Connection!
Thank you for your interest in the Volunteer Program at Ohio History Connection! Our dedicated volunteers truly embody our mission – they enable the community to connect with the past to understand the present and create a better future.
Please note: Background checks are required for all applicants 18 years of age and older and placement in any volunteer position is contingent upon successful results.
There are currently over 400 volunteers, interns and work study students in our Volunteer Program working in 25 different departments at Ohio History Center in Columbus!
We welcome volunteers of all ages. Volunteers under the age of 12 will be required to volunteer with a parent or guardian during their shifts.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. Submission of an application is not a guarantee of placement. Please fill out an application below and someone will be in touch with you.
Join one of our vintage 19th-century base ball teams as a player, score keeper, umpire or interpreter. Since 1981, we have brought historic mid-nineteenth century base ball (historically two words) to life with players and interpreters. Recruitment for new volunteers happens during the winter season (Nov-March) each year.
Want to work with the real stuff of history? Join the Archaeology Volunteer Team! We work Tuesdays beginning at 9:30. Tasks can include everything from washing, weighing, measuring, labeling and packaging artifacts as well as inventory, moving of collections and data entry.
