Gallery 2 Now Open!

Gallery 2, the next installment of object-dense displays at the Ohio History Center, is now open! The early American decorative arts-themed display features quilts, furniture, glass, and ceramics and the tools used to create them. In all, you can see 1,000 objects from the history and archaeology collections, and more will be added in December 2015.

Object-dense displays require an enormous amount of time to create. 16 staff members, 6 interns, 6 volunteers, and 4 professional movers spent about 500 hours—which is more than 62 full work days—packing, transporting, and installing objects in Gallery 2. A huge thank you to the collections and design staff for their hard work!

We hope you’ll take the time in this busy holiday season to visit the new Gallery 2. If not, we look forward to seeing you in the new year!
