Brand New Ohio as America Content

We have just launched a new version of Ohio as America, our online curriculum. This isn’t just an update – it’s brand-spankin’-new content, activities and more! From CSI adventures where your students are the detectives, to authentic American Indian content, written or edited by our tribal partners, we have been hard at work making sure Ohio as America continues to be the most in-depth, innovative and relevant Ohio history resource available. The curriculum is designed to be a great resource for both traditional classrooms and homeschooling families.

Read on to learn more about the new features and get a sneak peek at some of the new activities! You can also check out this recorded webinar that demos some of the new features.

In this activity, your students will become investigators and use primary sources to piece together a bank robbery that happened in New Carlisle, Ohio in 1933. Can they catch the perpetrator?

In this activity, students interact with the profiles of US presidents in our “FacePage”, and collect and summarize relevant information while also exploring the lives and visions of presidents Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, William H. Taft and Warren G. Harding to understand the impact Ohioans have made in US history.

The new curriculum will also reflect new teaching tools and some navigation and presentation changes, making it all even more user-friendly. But don’t worry! The current version of Ohio as America will still be available for those who have come to rely on it.
