Join Shaker Historical Society and Shaker Heights Public Library for a Shaker Star Party on March 16! Beginning at 7:30pm, attendees will learn how to create eclipse viewers out of cereal boxes and participate in star- and eclipse-themed activities before heading outside to learn how to read the night sky with astronomer Chris Mihos from Case Western Reserve University.
Chris Mihos is the Worcester R and Cornelia B Warner Professor of Astronomy at Case Western Reserve University. His research focuses on the evolution of galaxies and galaxy clusters, using ground- and space-based observatories as well as supercomputer simulations of galaxies. He is also keenly interested in astronomy education and science outreach, and exploring the night sky with students and learners of all ages.

This is a family friendly event for school-age children at the Shaker Historical Society. All youth attendees must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees are expected to bring one cereal box per person while Shaker Historical Society provides the remaining supplies. Registration is required for this free event: bit.ly/shs-stars
