Join us as we dig into the most common myths and misconceptions the 19th century has to offer! Bring the entire family and engage with fun activities linked to some of our favorite history mysteries. Learn about how our modern view has gotten common subjects like fashion, medicine, and even etiquette wrong after all these years. Participate in experiments and activities all over the village to debunk these popular myths. While you’re here, explore Ohio Village’s homes and businesses, get to know the residents, and play old-fashioned games on the village green.

Programming will include:

  • Experiments with “dangerous” cosmetics with our Pharmacist
  • An exploration of the realities of Victorian-era fashion
  • Exploring the disgusting history of food fraud in a pre-FDA era
  • The realities of Victorian-era propriety and etiquette
  • Learning the street lingo of 1890s slang
