Join us on April 18 as we celebrate World Heritage Day at the Newark Earthworks! This special open house invites visitors of all ages to explore two of Ohio’s most remarkable cultural landmarks—the Great Circle Earthworks and the Octagon Earthworks.

Both sites will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with hands-on activities taking place from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at each location. Visitors can also enjoy free guided tours at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM at both the Great Circle and the Octagon

Families can enjoy interactive experiences, learn about the incredible history of the earthworks, and connect with local organizations. Kids (and kids at heart!) can complete the Newark Earthworks Quest Book by visiting both sites to earn a Newark Earthworks Explorer pin—a fun way to discover and celebrate this World Heritage Site.

We’re also excited to welcome a variety of community partners, including the Licking County Library, Licking Soil and Water Conservation District, and Denison University, with even more to explore throughout the day.

Food trucks will be available on site including Bite Back.
Come celebrate, learn, and experience a place that is recognized as important not just to Ohio, but to the entire world!
