Step back in time at the Edgemont Inn Tavern Reenactment!
Join us for an unforgettable evening of history, music and community as The Harriet Beecher Stowe House and The Voice of Black Cincinnati present the Edgemont Inn Tavern Reenactment—a lively tribute to a little-known chapter of Cincinnati’s past.
Live Music by the YOLO Band featuring Lavieena Campbell will bring the sounds of the 1940s to life with classic jazz, swing and blues.
Brandi Lasherrill will weave the fascinating story of the Edgemont Inn, once a Green Book-listed tavern and boarding house operated by Irene Bacon in the historic Stowe House during segregation. Between sets, you’ll hear about how this iconic home became a vibrant gathering place for Black travelers and Walnut Hills neighbors.
Food, drinks and local retail vendors will be onsite, giving you a taste of the community spirit that defined the era—and still thrives today.
Bring your friends, your dancing shoes and your curiosity for this unique outdoor concert experience that blends music, storytelling and Black history in one unforgettable night.
Let’s honor the legacy of the Edgemont Inn, where history, culture and community come together.
