Witness exactly how the American Army celebrated Independence day during the War of 1812 in Ohio. This event is an 18 gun salute roaring from the field artillery of Fort Meigs. There were also 18 toasts given and 18 songs performed by the military band. The day also includes tours of the historic grounds, presentations and demonstrations in military marching and musket firing. It’s a unique way to celebrate the Fourth of July – embracing our nation’s history – well beyond the usual fireworks.
