The Hayes Presidential Library & Museums is opening up the Carriage House behind the museum for a special, behind-the-scenes guided tour. Eight tours of 10 people will get to see inside this historic building, which once served as the carriage house for President Rutherford B. Hayes’ horses and carriage. The space is an upstairs living area that has been renovated into modern living space used for special events and to house speakers at Hayes Presidential. Stairs are required to see the living space. The Carriage House includes a greenhouse where Hayes Presidential raises seedlings of Spiegel Grove trees and other plants. Tours last about 15 minutes and are free. Reservations are required and can be made at rbhayes.org. Check in at the Carriage House porch area before your tour. The Carriage House is located behind the museum. Parking is available behind the museum.
