Paulding County was covered by the Great Black Swamp into the 19th Century, but farmers turned the land into fields that stretched to the horizon. This event celebrates the history of farming in the county and features the machines that made the cultivation of the fields possible and brought commodities to market.
The society’s three buildings will be open for visits. Following the flatness of the land, the buildings are one level and are similar to the giant pole barns that begin to proliferate on Northwest Ohio’s rural landscape in the mid-20th century.
