ANDY WHITE — WHITTLING GIANTS DOWN TO SIZE

ANDY WHITE — WHITTLING GIANTS DOWN TO SIZE

Was there a race of giants in ancient eastern North America? Did they have double rows of teeth? There are books and even a TV show that make these claims, so they must be true, right? Not so much, actually. What evidence has been put forward in support of such claims? Mainly 19th century newspaper accounts of people digging up giant human bones. But are these accounts credible?

Archaeologist Andy White, in several recent posts on his terrific blog Andy White anthropology, puts these claims in their historic context and demonstrates why they don’t hold water. Check out Andys informative posts on giants and while youre at his blog, check out some of the other even more interesting posts.
