The Vermilion History Museum, in downtown Vermilion, served as a print shop from which a weekly newspaper was published from 1905 to 1964. After closing all the equipment in the shop sat dormant until 2012 when the doors of the museum opened to the public for the first time in more than 50 years. The museum is filled with interesting artifacts from the time when newspapers, posters and other paper materials were typeset by hand and printed with rare linotype printing machines. The museum also houses a wonderful collection of Vermilion memorabilia. We are having a Mystery Hunt for kids and adults on Saturday, September 12 from 11 am to 3 pm. Find selected historical items located in our museum. If you find all the artifacts correctly you will win a trip to our Treasure Chest to select a prize! The museum displays are located on two floors with stairs.
