Experience Cincinnati’s early history at the Betts House Open House. Tour the oldest surviving brick home in Cincinnati—built in 1804 and recognized as the oldest brick house in Ohio still standing on its original site. Once the center of a 111-acre farm and brickyard, the Betts property stretched across much of what is now Cincinnati’s West End.

During your visit, explore the current exhibit, which traces the history of Cincinnati from 1810 to 2010. Discover how the city evolved over two centuries and gain insight into the daily lives of the people who shaped its neighborhoods, industries, and communities. Then take a leisurely stroll through the newly renovated garden, where the peaceful setting offers a beautiful complement to the historic home and its remarkable story.
