Step behind the scenes at the Otterbein University Archives, located within Courtright Memorial Library, and explore the history of the University and its founding traditions.
During this special Ohio Open Doors experience, visitors will have rare access to the archives and learn how Otterbein University’s history connects to our nation’s 250-year story. The program will also highlight the life and legacy of Philip William Otterbein, the University’s namesake, on the 300th anniversary of his birth.
The Archives preserves a wide range of materials, including historic documents, photographs, artifacts, and publications that reflect the experiences of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The collection also documents the history of the United Brethren in Christ Church and its successor denominations, offering insight into the religious and cultural foundations of the University.
