1823 Chester Courthouse Tour & Genealogy Fair

Tour the oldest standing original courthouse in the Northwest Territory, built in 1823 and fully restored in 1999. Visitors can experience original architectural features and building practices from the early 19th century while exploring two floors of interior exhibits.

The courthouse houses a collection of artifacts from the surrounding area, many dating back to its earliest years, including household goods, tools, furnishings, musical instruments, and military uniforms.

A Genealogy Fair will also take place next door in the Academy from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., offering an additional opportunity to explore local history.

This free event includes minimal walking. Photography is permitted, and restrooms are available on site.
