Explore Kent’s historic River and Gougler Streets through this Ohio Open Doors walking tour of landmark buildings and the stories behind them. You’re welcome to begin your visit at this location or any of the other tour stops—just choose your starting point when registering.

Originally built in 1903 with support from Andrew Carnegie, this historic library reflects a national movement to expand access to knowledge and public learning. Today, the Carnegie Section remains preserved within the modern Kent Free Library, continuing its role as a place for research and community connection.
