Join the Crawford Park District for a self-guided scavenger hunt exploring the people, geology, and Ice Age History that shaped our region. Start in the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center to receive the scavenger hunt. After completing the indoor scavenger hunt, continue the adventure outdoors with a short, accessible walk along the boardwalk leading to a scenic overlook. From this vantage point, guests can view the Headwaters of the Sandusky River and look down upon an impressive sandstone wall that highlights the area’s geologic history. This portion of the experience is flat and wheelchair accessible, making it welcoming for all visitors. For those seeking a closer look, steps beside the overlook lead down to the river’s edge, offering an up-close view of the flowing water and towering sandstone formations that shaped this landscape over time.
