Veterans Day: A Day to Remember

1On November 9, 2014 the Friends of Fort Laurens honored our veterans — from the Revolutionary War to the present, during the 2nd annual Veterans Day Ceremony. The color guard from the Bolivar American Legions Post 190 and the Riflemen Squad re-enactors gave a 21 gun salute to all of our fallen heroes. Following the salute, Bolivar Mayor Rebecca Hubble gave a heartfelt speech about the men and women that have selflessly given their lives to preserve our countrys freedom. Not a dry eye was in the audience as Mayor Hubble gave her Thank You speech. A small lunch was provided by the Friends of Fort Laurens along with a short walk through the museum and grounds.
