Research into the Village of Zoar turns up 1935 aerial images

The Ohio Historical Society has recently been involved with the raising and stabilization of the Bimeler House in Zoar Village and while staff members have been examining and processing artifacts, we have also been looking at historic documents and photos.

During this time, some interesting aerial photos of Zoar Village have been uncovered.  The photos were taken of Zoar Village in 1935 by an amateur aviator/photographer prior to the construction of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Levy that was used for overflow of Lake Zoar.

We thank the Zoar Community Association for permission to reproduce these important images here.
