Telling Ohio's stories by preserving historic places, community history and your personal history.
We are the state historic preservation office for Ohio and manage responsibilities designated to the state by Congress in the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, which makes historic preservation a nationwide priority and encourages Americans to identify and preserve our nation's cultural and historic resources.
Local History Services works closely with Ohio’s smaller local history organizations to provide continuing education, inspiration, and professional development for local historians.
