Builders of Ohio migrated to our state and through it. Genealogy traces them at the family-level throughout Ohio’s history.

Come visit the Ohio Genealogical Society in Bellville to kickstart your family history and genealogy research. During this event, attendees will not only learn the basics of research but will also have the opportunity to tour the OGS Library and Archives and view some of the most unique items in the collections.

At 2pm, there will be a Beginner’s genealogy workshop on tracing your family history in six simple steps, led by expert volunteers and OGS Staff, with time for questions. At 3pm, OGS Staff will be offering “backstage” tours of the Library and Archives and displays of collection highlights. Attendees are strongly encouraged to use time remaining to begin their research in the OGS Library and explore as they wish! Staff and volunteers are available for questions and assistance until 5pm.
