As you move through the space of this Victorian mansion, you will hear the history of the early settlers, their obscure religious, Swedenborgian ideology, their educational aspirations that lead to the founding of Urbana University, and how this is reflected in the construction of this home and it’s many uses and functions. As you move through the building you will also learn about John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, and his connection to the people that inhabited these spaces. This museum is home to the largest collection of Johnny Appleseed archives and memorabilia. It is also home to a portion of the Swedenborgian Church of North America’s archives. This event is for people of all ages.
