Join us at the Old Sixth Street Cemetery for a special Patriot Grave Marker Ceremony honoring two Revolutionary War Patriots laid to rest in this historic burial ground. They are two of 115 patriot burials in Licking County documented by Ohio’s Revolutionary War Veteran Graves Project. The event highlights the cemetery’s role as an important local site of early American history and remembrance.

Presented by the Hocking Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, the ceremony will feature members in Continental Army uniforms and conclude with a traditional musket salute in tribute to their service and sacrifice.

Following the ceremony, visitors are invited to tour the nearby Sherwood-Davidson House during a special open house. This historic home, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, offers an opportunity to experience a local property connected to the community’s past, decorated in a patriotic theme as part of the America 250 Celebration.

This event provides a meaningful opportunity to explore two historic sites while reflecting on the people and places that shaped the nation’s early history.
