Join us on Saturday, July 18th as we celebrate two events–the 85th birthday of the Westerville Historical Society and the 100th anniversary of Dacia Custer Shoemaker saving the Hanby House. In 1926, for her birthday present she asked her husband to purchase the structure which had been condemned by the city and was to be demolished. This act saved the historic property.
The festivities will be from 1–4 p.m. with a ceremony at 2 p.m. to dedicate several new plaques and a park bench. There will be light refreshments and music. The house will be open for touring. This event is free and open to the public.
