The Ohio History Connection is completing a comprehensive renovation project, Campus 2.OH, aimed at revitalizing its campus on East 17th Avenue in Columbus, including the Ohio History Center & Ohio Village.

This initiative has involved numerous construction, renovation and event activities, with the goal of enhancing and expanding the physical spaces for a better visitor experience. The project is both a celebration and a preservation effort, helping to tell Ohio's story for the next 50 years and beyond.

All corners of our Columbus campus footprint have been part of the larger plan.

• Our new Collections Care Center opened June 6, 2024, to safely and sustainably house our history and natural history collections. The center is open by appointment. Appointments with a curator may be made by emailing [email protected] or calling 614-297-2535
• Since closing on August 5, 2024, Ohio Village is undergoing significant infrastructure upgrades and new visitor experiences are being introduced. Ohio Village is opening for All Hallows' Eve and Holidays at Ohio Village in October and December 2026, and it will reopen fully in Spring 2027. Visit here for the latest updates and information.
• Next door, at the Ohio Expo Center, we worked with our partners at the Ohio State Fair to create the Ohio Showcase building, which features the Shaping Ohio exhibit telling Ohio's story, "The Ohio Story" 360-degree immersive film experience, a food hall featuring Ohio-based restaurants and a glass "jewel box" featuring large historic artifacts.
• The Ohio History Center is undergoing a master planning process for renovation and preservation.
