Come visit the Lett Log House located on the Williams County Fairgrounds and see what life was like in an 1850’s Ohio Log House. George Lett built this log house in 1850 four miles south of Edgerton, Ohio. The home was donated to the Williams County Historical Society in 1962 and was carefully dismantled and reconstructed on site at the Williams County Fairgrounds. Nearly all the logs are original, with two small logs over the doors and west window being from the old Deerlick Post Office log house that stood south of Pioneer. The rings on the original pole rafters show they were about 100 years old in 1850.

Eight Girls and four boys were raised in this tiny home. Many primitive items are on display, including several original Lett family heirlooms. Learn about the history of the Lett family and hear some of the stories that these pioneers told of their life in the wilderness.

Note: The Williams County Historical Society offers free admission to this event. In addition to the Lett Log House, the Historical Society will offer free admission to the Museum and Depot as well. Because this event will be held during the Williams County Fair, you MAY be asked to pay a small fee to enter the Fairgrounds.
