See a variety of quilts exploring family stories, cultural history, and lived experience in the historic Oratory at Grailville, originally a dairy barn built in 1813 which was transformed into an elegant sacred space in 1962.

Curated by Grail member Rev. Dr. Renee Wormack-Keels, the exhibit explores how to preserve and express sacred memories. Joining Renee are fellow fiber artists and Black women Monica D. Scott, Stephanie Rivers, and Miriam Madison-Balfour, representing new and experienced quilters who have exhibited regionally, nationally, and internationally.

The inspiration for the exhibit grew from Renee’s own conversations with her grandson as she reflected on the importance of passing family stories from one generation to the next. The exhibit raises a universal question: How do people preserve their stories before they are lost
