Visitors will be receiving guided tours of the current courthouse (including remanent of the old jail) as well as being able to virtually visit the oldest standing courthouse in Ohio located in Chester. Visitors will learn about the third branch of government, the judiciary, and how it moved around in Meigs County since the county was formed in 1819. Photographs of prior judges, important historic legal documents representing various cases through the history of Meigs County and even samples of coroner’s inquests report from the 1800s will be on display.

Visitors will also discover how the paper files have evolved through the years and how today we use a digitized filing system.
