Step into a place where history shaped a movement during the Annual Historic Tour in Mount Pleasant, Ohio, on August 1 & 2, 2026. At the heart of the tour is the historic Quaker Yearly Meeting House, a site of the Ohio Yearly Meeting of Friends and, as of 2023, a designated Network to Freedom site recognizing its role in the Underground Railroad.
Located within the Mount Pleasant Historic District—a National Historic Landmark district noted for its strong ties to Quaker history, the antislavery movement, and the Underground Railroad—the tour offers a rare opportunity to experience this legacy firsthand.
Visitors will enjoy access to five additional historic buildings preserved by the Historical Society of Mount Pleasant, along with living history demonstrations, select private homes, and a working farm that reflects the area’s agricultural traditions. Together, these sites tell the story of a community deeply rooted in faith, reform, and resilience.
