Recently I stumbled upon an artifact that was recovered at the Bimeler House at Zoar Village, during the Ohio History Connection 2012-2013 Restoration Project. It looks somewhat like a small button, but I believe it could be more interesting than that. Stamped on one side is W.F. & Co along the outer edge and EX in the center. On the reveres side is 2078.
I wonder if the W.F. & Co is the Wells Fargo Company and this is a form of currency. So I turn to the readers of the blog to see if you can help me figure it out.
The lead object has a diameter of 17.3 mm, with a thickness of 5.8mm and it weighs 0.2g.
What do you think it is?
