There will be a special walk to view and learn about the rare Showy Lady’s-slipper Orchids at Cedar Bog on Saturday, June 4th at 2:00 pm. These are North America’s largest and most spectacular orchids, and Cedar Bog has one of the largest populations of this endangered species in Ohio. The cost for the walk is $5, or only $4 if you are a member of the Cedar Bog Association or Ohio History Connection.
Damselfly and Dragonfly Workshop
Curator emeritus Bob Glotzhober will be leading a workshop at Cedar Bog on dragonflies and damselflies on Saturday, June 11th. He will review their natural history with a PowerPoint talk, and then take a walk to see which species we can find at Cedar Bog. Good chances of the smallest dragonfly in North America — the Elfin Skimmer, and also the large and very tame Eastern Petaltail dragonfly. The program costs $10, or only $5 for members of the Ohio History Connection and/or the Cedar Bog Association.
