This weekend: “Boo in the Bog”!

Join us this weekend for the annual “Boo in the Bog” program at Cedar Bog! Billed as a “non-scary interactive night hike” for young children and their parents, guests will be led by flashlight-toting volunteers along the almost mile-long boardwalk at Cedar Bog. Naturalists will be located at stations along the boardwalk and will present short interactive natural history presentations using actual museum specimens. (I guess it’s “non-scary” if you consider walking along a meandering boardwalk through a pitch black bog – well, actually it’s a fen but whose nit-picking during a holiday! – and coming across slightly eccentric naturalists showing stuffed animals as “non-scary”!)

“Boo in the Bog” is tonight, October 18 and Sat. night Oct. 19 from 7 – 9 PM. It will also include children’s activities, face-painting, story-telling, and food! Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for children 6 and over, and children under 6 are free. OHS members and Cedar Bog Association members receive a $1 discount.
