“They Made their Mark:” A Presentation on Historic Maker’s Marks

Please join us at 11:00 am in the Arthur C. Johnson Auditorium on Archaeology Day, Saturday, September 28, to hear Jessica Clark, Archaeologist and Principal Investigator at Ohio Valley Archaeology, Inc., talk about  maker’s marks on historic artifacts.

?Maker’s marks on glass and ceramic artifacts help archaeologists learn more about when and where the items were produced. This presentation by Jessica Clark, Archaeologist and Principal Investigator at Ohio Valley Archaeology, Inc., will provide examples of maker’s marks on artifacts recovered from historic-era sites in Ohio, discuss what kinds of information they provide, and explain what kinds of resources archaeologists use to make these discoveries.
