Join guest curator Susan Talbot-Stanaway to learn about the history of the sewing tools, sewing rolls and sewing boxes in Gallery 2, sometimes known as housewives. Making and repairing clothing and other items for the home and workplace required tools and skill. Through stories about these diminutive sewing treasures, we’ll hear about American home life, industrial change, peace and war.


Collection Connection: Tool Time

Do you ever look at ancient stone tools and wonder, “What does that do?” Visit our Collection Connection table in the museum and satisfy your curiosity. Join archaeologist Juli Six to learn about ancient stone tools found in Ohio and those who made them.


Curator Talk: The GOHI Collection and LGBT History in Ohio

In 2006, the Ohio History Connection and our community partners established the Gay Ohio History Initiative (GOHI). This unique initiative aims to collect, preserve and share Ohio’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) history. Join curator Eric Feingold to learn more about our GOHI collection and the contributions the LGBT community has made to Ohio history.
