I Found it in the Archives: Submit Your Story!

Have you ever discovered a real treasure in the Ohio History Connection’s Archives?  Tracked down information about an elusive ancestor? Found Ohio History Connection staff to be particularly helpful with your research?  We invite you to share your story during the sixth year of the I Found It In the Archives! Contest.

Ohio History Connection is participating in the Society of Ohio Archivist’s statewide competition again in 2016.  We will be accepting written or video submissions now through July 11, 2016.

To enter, fill out this form and send your stories by e-mail to [email protected] or by US postal service to: Ohio History Connection, ATTN: Amanda Rindler, 800 E. 17th Ave., Columbus, OH, 43211-2474.

The winner of the Ohio History Connection’s contest will be announced on August 1, 2016. The winning entry will then be submitted to the Society of Ohio Archivists’ statewide competition. 

The prize package includes a one year family membership to Ohio History Connection; a voucher for a free genealogy workshop at the Ohio History Center in 2016/2017; and a behind the scenes tour of the Ohio History Center’s archives storage area in Columbus.

Here’s a quick look at the important dates coming up for the I Found it in the Archives! Contest:

June 13– Open for submissions!

July 11Submission deadline

July 18- Online voting begins

August 1– A winner is announced!
