Firelands Archaeology Presents the 7th Annual Ohio Archaeology Dinner

Please join the Firelands Archaeological Research Center for their 7th annual Ohio Archaeology Dinner on October 27, 2016.  This year’s lecturer will be Ohio History Connection’s own Brad Lepper!

Dr. Lepper’s talk, The Newark Earthworks: A First Century Pilgrimage Center, will discuss how he thinks the earthworks were used as pilgrimage centers, drawing thousands of people from hundreds of miles to present offerings of supplication or thanksgiving and to participate in the rituals that linked the Hopewell people to each other and to the cosmos.

The evening will include the lecture and a unique dinner featuring traditional native foods prepared in a modern, gourmet style.  Appetizers start at 6:30 pm and the dinner is at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are $20.

The event will take place at New Russia Township Lodge in Oberlin, Ohio.

Contact Mr. Brian Scanlan 440.258.7775 for reservations. (No tickets will be sold at the door.)
