The stories of the Apollo project are well-known to most people, but what about the storytellers? The Ohio History Connection invites you to meet Jim Snyder (known to most as Jim Slade), former Science Correspondent from ABC Television and Radio, who witnessed and reported on America’s early space exploration program. In this program, Mr. Snyder will talk about his time working as a special correspondent and provide unique accounts of covering the Apollo missions.

He will be joined by Historian Greg Brown from the Armstrong Air and Space Museum, a partner site of the Ohio History Connection.

Speakers for this program:

Jim Snyder (Jim Slade)

As its science correspondent, Jim Slade led coverage of space, science and technology issues for ABC Television and Radio News from 1988 through 2001. He worked in a similar capacity at the Mutual Broadcasting System (1976 to 1988) and the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company (1961 to 1976), a career which allowed him to witness the first 40 years of world spaceflight first hand. As a science writer, his stories ranged from exploration to education, archeology to high-speed computers.
