Participants will study forest ecology with Keith Bengston. They will learn to identify trees, measure them as well as the plot they are in. There will be a presentation of how foresters mathematically count all of the trees of a certain species in the acreage of the park, as well as what their importance is and how they are utilized. There will be much scientific information during this session.

Keith Bengston is a long time employee of the Ohio History Connection, former site manager of Fort Hill, Serpent Mound, and SunWatch Indian Village with the Dayton Society of Natural History. He is currently employed at Fort Ancient. Keith holds a B.A. degree in U.S. History and Native American Studies from Northland College in northern Wisconsin. He studied extensively with members of the Ojibwe Nation and numerous museums.
