Remarkable Women
Apr. 01 2023

The Museum Association of East Muskingum will host “Remarkable Women: Past, Present and Future” on Saturday, April 1 at noon in Caldwell Hall on the campus of Muskingum University. The luncheon which has been rescheduled from March, 2020, will celebrate the life of Annie Glenn who, unfortunately, passed away in May, 2020. For several years, 3 remarkable women from our community have been honored at this annual celebration; one representing the past, one representing the present and one representing the future. Each has been chosen for their contributions to our community and beyond in the spirit and manner of Annie Glenn.

This year’s Woman of the Past honoree is Margaret Castor, mother of Annie (Castor) Glenn. We are anxious to learn about her life and how her example inspired others, especially her daughter, Annie. Mrs. Castor’s story will be presented by a family acquaintance, Laura Bates.

The Woman of the Present is Gail Requardt who is widely known and highly respected for her unending contributions to our community, church, and education. Her son, Gregory Stamm, will give her presentation.

The Woman of the Future is Susan McDonald, an already successful woman whose future holds even greater promise. Susan, a successful attorney and business owner, is also well known for her extensive work with 4-H youth. Her presentation will be given by Rev. Ellie Johns-Kelley.

The John Glenn High School String Sounds will perform during the luncheon. Tickets are $25 per person and seating is limited. For reservations, call the Museum Office at 740-826-3305 or email [email protected].
