During the middle of the summer, there are many things that can catch your attention if you know what to look for. Fort Ancient volunteer and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Rick Hoffman as well as other naturalists, will walk participants through the prairie and woods to learn about the plants, bugs, and wildlife around Fort Ancient.
In accordance with state guidelines, we will be practicing social distancing.
Pre-registration through Fort Ancient is required. The tour is limited to twelve participants.
General site admission for non-members. Regular site admission: $7/Adults, $6/Children (6-17) & Seniors (60+), Under 5/Free.
Rick Hoffman, BA, BSN, CRNA, is a retired nurse anesthetist who practiced in the Dayton area for 40 years. In 2013 he became an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist (OCVN). Currently he volunteers at Glen Helen Raptor Center, Caesar’s Creek Nature Center and Fort Ancient. He is also an active docent at the Dayton Art Institute since 1996.
