As part of a day-long celebration of Ulysses S. Grant’s 200th birthday, the U.S. Grant Homestead Association will present two living history interviews with Ulysses S. Grant, portrayed by Dr. Curt Fields.
The day will start at 10 a.m. in the historic Gaslight Theater in Georgetown with An Interview with General U. S. Grant, a discussion with Union Army General Grant, moderated by Admiral Sean Buck, Superintendent of the U. S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
A lunch break will follow at noon with food for purchase in the Fellowship Hall of the Georgetown United Methodist Church (across the street from the Gaslight Theater).
Following lunch, the second interview, A Conversation with President U.S. Grant will begin at 2 p.m. back in the Gaslight Theater. The moderator of this discussion is Dr. Charle Calhoun of Greenville, North Carolina and author of The Presidency of Ulysses S. Grant.
The program at the Gaslight Theater is free although donations would be appreciated. There is a fee for the lunch.
