Step back 200 years into the home of the Worthington family for a special holiday tour. Celebrate the holidays at “Holidays at Adena.”
Adena Mansion and Gardens will be decorated in 19th-century yuletide splendor and will surely put you in the holiday spirit! While Adena is closed for the winter season, we re-open for the holidays for two weekends only. Guided tours of the beautifully decorated mansion will be offered every half hour beginning at 10:30 am with the last tour at 3:00 pm.
The Tenant House will be decorated to reflect the German traditions brought to Adena by many of the indentured servants who worked here. Visitors will find a Christmas tree, handmade decorations, and offerings of German cookies and mulled cider which will reflect the heritage of the immigrants. There will be craft activities for children.
At the Visitor’s Center, live entertainment and refreshments will be offered. Reproduction of children’s toys, books, holiday decorations, books, and other unique items will be available for sale at the Adena gift shop. Elsewhere on the grounds, horse and carriage rides will be offered on Saturday, December 2, and Saturday, December 9 at an additional charge.
Admission to Holidays is $12 for adults; $6 for children. You may purchase your tickets at the door on the day of the event, by calling 740-772-1500, or online.
During Children’s Weekend, December, 9 and 10, one child for each adult paying admission will be admitted free of charge.
