Robert Kroeger, author of Historic Barns of Ohio, will offer a live painting, storytelling event, and book signing. Visitors can tour Kilpi Hall, a registered historic building established in 1899 as a Finnish Temperance Hall. In 1976, the building was purchased by a group of people who started the Conneaut Arts Center.

Barns of the area often served as the subject matter for local artists, especially the octagon-shaped barn at Octagon Acres in Conneaut. Doors open at 4 p.m. to tour the building and watch the live painting.

Robert Kroeger paints with a style called impasto. When the painting is finished he will tell stories of notable barns beginning around 6 p.m. He will also sign books, which will be available on site. The Conneaut Arts Center will be selling raffle tickets to win the painting and announce the winner at the end of the evening.
