The Bethel Historical Society will host this evening’ s presentation by Ulysses Grant living historian Dr. Curt Fields of Colliersville, Tennessee, and music by Steve and Lisa Ball of Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Fields as Grant will discuss his family’s time living in Bethel in the early 1840s while Grant was a student at West Point. The Balls specialize in music of the American Civil War and the music and life of Stephen Foster, recording multiple CDs and traveling across the country, including at Gettysburg Military Park, to sing and play on period style instruments.

The program begins at 6 p.m. at the Living the Word Church, 402 W. Plane St., Bethel, Ohio. Admission is free but donations would be appreciated.
