This is a unique opportunity to experience the grounds of Fort Meigs in the dark. This is a military history tour focusing on the army’s activities after sunset during the War of 1812. Experiences of camp life and sleeping conditions are explored through the soldiers’ own words as letters and diaries are shared aloud. Darker subjects such as the loneliness and fear of the sentinel’s duty are also examined with a look at the fighting conditions of an around the clock siege. The evening climaxes with a music performance of the military tattoo. Appropriate for adults and older children only. Registration and pre-payment is required. $15/adult, $10/senior & $7/child.
