An introduction to the Cincinnati Observatory’s 178-year history.

Learn about the Observatory’s role in early weather forecasting and timekeeping; and how Cincinnati came to have the first public observatory in the Nation, who made it possible and what was discovered here.

You’ll tour both Observatory’s buildings, see the two historic telescopes and take a peek behind the scenes. You can also try out the interactive Sundial, take the Planet Walk all the way to Pluto and more! Maybe even take a safe peek at the Sun.
