The Bainbridge Historical Center, our local museum, offers a fascinating journey through the history, settlement, education, and development of Bainbridge. Within its walls, you’ll find exhibits that bring the rich heritage of our community to life, showcasing the stories and artifacts that have shaped Bainbridge over the years.
Central to the center is the Bissell-Tucek House, a Federal-style home built in 1835 by Justus Bissell, Bainbridge’s first postmaster. The house, which served as a post office and social hub over the decades, remained in the hands of various families for nearly 80 years before becoming part of the museum. Relocated to its current site in 2009, the Bissell-Tucek House now stands as a key piece of the township’s Heritage Park, preserving the legacy of Bainbridge’s early settlers and community leaders.
