Do you have any family members or friends who served in the military? Have you found items they left that you do not recognize or know much about? Military objects used by Ohioans, such as medals, personal gear, and uniforms from conflicts that span from the War of 1812 to conflicts in the 2000s are found in the Ohio History Connection museum collections. The photographs below from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War all picture Ohio soldiers wearing and using objects that are now part of the Ohio History Connections.
Whether you have an ancestor’s military uniform or a box of photographs that pose questions, come to the Ohio History Center to learn more about your family heirlooms! Join our curatorial team as we help visitors to learn more about the military objects and photographs in their personal collection. We will work together and try to solve these mysteries of history!
Please note firearms and both live and spent munitions of any kind are not permitted inside the Ohio History Center. If you have a firearm or munition you would like identified during this program please bring in a photograph of the item along with any other information about the item.
